OK let me guess, you’ve probably already among the hundreds who year in and year out embrace the fasted cardio in hopes of MORE WEIGHT LOSS.
In fact, you are not alone and you might just want to keep reading as this article is designed for you.
So you might be asking yourself, “Is it better to train first thing in the morning before eating? I hate to break it to you but the answer is not so simple. While you might be “burning fat” for energy it does not equal better or more fat loss in the bigger picture.
Really? So What is Best?
To tell you the truth, the amount of “fat” burned during our session is not nearly as important as the total amount of Calories burned at the end of the day. Simple as that!
So yes, YOU CAN EAT and still lose weight. I guarantee you will feel much better during your exercise even though all the fitness “gurus” will tell you otherwise. It is about what works best for you.
While more “fat” Calories are burned when our insulin levels are low while taking a high-quality CLA product (on an empty stomach), it does not mean that you will burn more Calories at the end of the day and have MORE weight loss.
Take it from me. I used to be one of those persons who would wake up every morning and hop on the treadmill for countless minutes without a single ounce of food in my stomach.
Dreading those LONG cardio sessions wishing it was over so I could go home and finally eat because I was “burning more fat” right? It was absolutely horrible and I ended up HATING the gym.
I don’t know about you but I LOVE CARBS and food before working out. The switch did not make ANY difference at all in my fat-loss. In fact, my metabolism was faster and I was burning fat like a furnace.
Finally, I no longer believed the fitness myth that having food before working out stops my fat loss progress.
One caveat though, it is important to know that if keeping your muscle is your top priority while losing fat the BEST thing you can do is take Branched Chained Amino Acids (BCAA) before and during your exercise session.
They will propel you to train harder, burn fat, and reduce muscle soreness.
You probably have seen countless individuals at the gym drinking those colored drinks in their blender bottles at the gym right? They’re sipping BCAA’s and they do it for a purpose. Remember, high levels of cortisol mean higher levels of stress, muscle tissue loss, and lower levels of fat loss.
Not only that, but they’re calorie free and appetite suppressant!
I don’t know about you but I am really careful when selecting supplements. I mean, I look at ingredients, labels, flavorings, etc.. So if training fasted is for you and you want to maximize your results then give this a try:
Wrapping Things Up…
The most important thing I want you to take away today is that no matter which method you chose it all does not matter if you can’t maintain it long-term. Building habits take time and patience but if you give your best everyday YOU WILL SEE RESULTS.
My personal advice to you is to do cardio whenever you find it most convenient for you. It is your total caloric expenditure that matters when it comes to weight loss, not whether your calories burned were mostly derived from your fat stores.
